Sometimes a coffee date is just a coffee date. Other times, however, a shared cup of brew marks the beginning of a couple’s journey to “I do”—just ask Drew and Angie, who exchanged vows at Royal Lane Baptist Church a year and a half after falling in love over coffee mugs.

The couple’s Christian faith and love for family was referenced throughout the evening in a variety of special touches. Angie’s brother, Brian, acted as officiant and moved all in attendance by delivering a message that was both personal and profound. Although Brian had never officiated prior to his sister’s wedding, “He just spoke the truth of the gospel and that moved me and everyone else there,” Angie says.

A strapless lace Ines Di Santo gown proved the perfect match for the couple’s classic ceremony and colorful reception at the Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. Coral roses, peonies, orchids, lilies, and other blooms accented the contemporary glass vases and candelabras featured on each reception table, and provided a bright contrast to the neutral hues of the Japanese lanterns, lounge area furniture, and table linens. The bride’s buttercream-and-orchid bedecked cake stood beneath a Lucite pergola accented by candles and strands of orchids—an eye-catching display crafted just for our bride by event designer Susan Graham.

In addition to their guest book, the couple provided a Bible and asked each of their 300 guests to initial and highlight their favorite passage of Scripture. The personal theme of the evening was further referenced in lighting features by ES Events, who created a custom dance floor monogram and wall patterns, as well as the couple’s parting gift for guests: warm cookies tucked into boxes topped with coral thank-you notes.

“I’m thankful for the talented and creative people who cared enough to bless Drew and I by using their gifts for God’s glory,” Angie summarized. “I will never forget it for the rest of my life.”

Congratulations, Mosiers!
